Today, Jessica is an inspiration to women in aviation around the world. It's no problem for the cox to control the yoke with his right foot and the throttle with his left foot.
"What other pilots do with their hands, I do with my feet," Cox told CNN. After my birth, when the doctor brought me and told the parents that your child has no arms, my parents were very distressed.
My mother suffered a lot because her pregnancy was completely normal. Jessica said that she has never suffered from any kind of inferiority complex. He has shown full credit of his courage and strength to his family. "They helped me a lot to be brave and give me the freedom to move out of the house," says Jessica.
Jessica Cox says she used to be afraid of flying on airplanes. "As a child, I used to board commercial flights and pray to God every time I sat in the seat," he said. I felt like I would have felt better if I had someone to hold on to.
Cox also said, "One flight on a small plane changed everything for me." The pilot of the plane brought me to the control room and asked me to fly it. I think it is more important to face any situation without fear.
Jessica Cox began training to become a pilot in 2015 after graduating from the University of Arizona. But it was not easy for the stars. So he needed to find a dedicated flight instructor.
Jessica Cox said, I have trained from many flight instructors and contributors. It took me about three years to master aviation through many mistakes. The most important thing is to find a plane that I can afford.
In 2008, Jessica Cox was granted permission by the Federal Aviation Administration to fly the Ercoup, a light sport aircraft. Jessica Cox said there were many questions, many concerns. I had a lot of doubts about whether this would be possible.
Despite having no hands, Jessica Cox had a very normal childhood. He attended government schools and was more involved in regular extracurricular activities. He said, "Every day after school, I joined dancing, swimming and martial arts taekwondo and scouting."
He was often looked at differently as he did not have two hands. Jessica Cox said, "I tried to be normal but I was often told I couldn't do anything." Because I don't have two hands. Then Jessica Cox learns to use a prosthetic hand, but she never feels comfortable with it. Jessica Cox said, "I didn't want to be dependent on this prosthetic arm from the beginning." I used to think that my legs were much better than artificial hands.
Currently Jessica Cox is not only a pilot, she is a certified scuba driver and a third-degree back belt in taekwondo! Jessica Cox has traveled to over 20 countries as a motivational speaker!
