Gulf of Oman oil tanker attack: Trump blames Iran

The Dhaka Times Desk The United States and its allies have blamed Iran for the attack on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman on Friday morning.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has given such an indication. However, although Iran denies this accusation, Donald Trump refuses to accept it.

As evidence of Iran's involvement, Donald Trump claimed that America has such video footage; Iran's Revolutionary Guards are seen removing an unexploded mine from the side of a damaged oil tanker.

However, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres did not agree with Trump's claim at all. He said that what is the truth must be 'clearly proved'. Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted the whole incident as suspicious.

Meanwhile, due to the attack on the oil tanker, the tension in the entire Gulf region increased by several steps. Along with that, the price of oil is increasing. Two ships were damaged in Friday's attack, but 44 crew members were unharmed. They are said to have survived by jumping into the water. There was no damage to the contents of the two ships. But who is behind it is still unclear.
