There is indeed a story of such a state today that the state's population is very small. Less is less to say the least. How can the country be in such a small number of people? This question may come to all of our minds. And that country is a small country consisting of 4 islands called Pitcairn Islands. The names of these 4 islands are - Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducey and Weno. Only Pitcairn is inhabited. The remaining 3 islands lie empty in the sea.

The population of this country is only 56 people. It is the smallest country in the world in terms of population. New Zealand is closest to Pitcairn. So all correspondence to Pitcairn goes through New Zealand.

Pitcairn was settled in 1790. In 1789, a group of soldiers of the British Navy declared mutiny. They took over the ship by forcing the captain of a British Navy ship bound for Tahiti into a small boat. Later, those rebel naval forces reached Tahiti.

But they did not stay there for long. They all left Tahiti and went to Pitcairn to escape the punishment of the British administration. At that time some people from Tahitian went to Pitcairn along with the rebel British navy. They took refuge in this small island. Since then, the settlement has been established here. The descendants of those rebellious British sailors and their fellow Tahitians are the citizens of Pitcairn today.

The people who are now in this Pitcairn are mainly members of 4 families. Surrounded by mountains, forests and seas, this country floats in the Pacific Ocean with its wonderful natural beauty. In 2010 Pitcairn had a population of just 45. In 2013 census it can be seen that it has slightly increased to 56. The Pitcairn Islands are not recognized as a self-governing state by the United Nations. Therefore, the administrative responsibility of this country is on Britain.
