A fatwa has been issued in Indonesia declaring the game 'haram', accusing 'Pubji' of insulting Islam and inciting violence against players.

Recently the Ulama Council of Ancheh province of Indonesia issued such a fatwa. According to media reports, they have also appealed to the local government to ban the game.

Ancheh Ulama Council Deputy Chairman Faisal Ali said, "Our fatwa says that PUBG and such games are haram. Because they spread violence and change people's behavior.'

Faisal Ali also said, 'Pabji basically insults Islam. We have seen kids and even adults getting extremely addicted to this game and playing it everywhere on their mobile phones. The matter has become critical.

It should be noted that Islamic Sharia law is effective only in Ancheh province in Indonesia, a Muslim-majority country. The game was previously banned in Iraq, Nepal and the Indian state of Gujarat due to fears of real-life violence. A few young people have recently died in India while playing this PUBG game.
