HSC Exam Result: Girls pass, boys ahead in GPA-5

The Dhaka Times Desk Female students are ahead of male students in terms of pass rate in HSC and equivalent examination results. But like last time students have got more GPA-5 this time.

Education Minister Dipu Moni in a press conference at the Secretariat today (Wednesday) highlighted various aspects of this year's higher secondary results. 73.93 percent of students passed the HSC and equivalent exams this year, 47 thousand 286 got GPA-5.

7 lakh 3 thousand students and 6 lakh 33 thousand 629 female students gave the exam in higher secondary. Out of this 5 lakh 3 thousand 828 male students and 4 lakh 84 thousand 334 female students have passed.

While the pass rate of female students is 76.44 percent, it can be seen that 71.67 percent of male students have passed.

On the other hand, 24 thousand 567 male students and 22 thousand 710 female students got GPA-5. It is seen that 1 thousand 866 more male students got perfect GPA than female students.

It should be noted that last year female students were ahead in pass rate. 69.72 percent of female students and 63.88 percent of male students passed. However, more than 1,900 male students got full GPA-5 last year as well.
