What Ranu Mondal said in response to Lata Mangeshkar's comments

It is known that Ranu Mondal was not at all upset by Lata's comments. To him, Lata is a respected person and artist. In response to Lata's comments, Ranu Mondal told the Indian newspaper, 'I am a very small person to Lataji. I will always be younger than him. I like his music since childhood. Everything he says about me is an inspiration and a blessing to me.'

Lata Mangeshkar recently told reporters about Ranu Mandal's popularity, 'I feel lucky if someone benefits through my name and work. But aspiring artistes can come into the discussion in no time by singing Amar Ba Kishoreda (Kishore Kumar), Rafi Saheb (Mohammed Rafi), Mukesh Bhai and Asha (Asha Bhosle). But this fame did not last long. So every artist has to be original.'

In response to Lata's words, Ranu Mondal said, 'When I sing at the railway station, an opportunity will come that I never understood. But I had faith in my own voice. I was inspired by Lataji's singing. I will never give up hope in the future. I will sing.'

On the other hand, Himesh, the music director of his first song about Ranu, said, 'Nobody can be a legend like Lataji. He is incomparable. Ranuji has just started her beautiful journey. I think people are misinterpreting Lataji's comments. It is true that imitating other artists cannot survive. But it is also true that getting inspiration from someone is also important. Ranuji got that inspiration from Lataji.'
