In the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of India, it was decided that an ordinance will be issued to ban e-cigarettes. Trading, selling or marketing of e-cigarettes in the country is punishable by one year in jail or a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh, or both, for a first offence. If the same offense is committed for the second time, the punishment can be imprisonment for 3 years and a fine of up to 5 lakh rupees. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has formed the cabinet.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, 'While initially e-cigarettes or electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) were seen as a less harmful alternative to cigarettes, it now appears that they are not. By doing this, nicotine addiction is created. Many have started using it as a 'style statement' or 'cool'. Then one time getting involved in addiction.'

According to the official sources of the country, about 45 million people are involved in the tobacco industry in the country. The annual income of the Indian government from taxes on cigarettes and tobacco is about 40 thousand crore rupees. And foreign currency of 6 thousand crore rupees comes from exports. However, those who are importing e-cigarettes from America-China, doing business, do not have any license. No revenue is generated from it.

It should be noted that this e-cigarette is being used in different countries of the world to avoid the harmful side of smoking. It is generally taken positively. However, it is a question whether the argument given by the Government of India is correct in Ado. Do e-cigarettes make people more addicted? This question remains.
