Jamaat strike is going on

The Dhaka Times Desk Morning and evening strike called by Jamaat-e-Islami is going on. Today, Jamaat-e-Islami has called this hartal to protest the verdict of former Amir Ghulam Azam's case by the International Criminal Tribunal.

Due to the hartal, extensive security measures have been taken across the country. BGB has been deployed in the capital. Police have been stationed at various important places in the capital.

Meanwhile, there was a massive clash between the police and Jamaat-Shibir in Dhalpur of the capital. At this time, 7 TV journalists were injured. On the other hand, when Jamaat Shibir tried to picket in different places of the capital, the police foiled it. Jamaat-e-Islami activists set fire to 2 lagoons in Mirpur.

There have been reports of Jamaat-Shibir clashes with the police in various parts of the country. There was a clash with the police in Barisal, Sirajganj, Bhola. Hartal supporters have set fire to 4 trucks in Jhenaidah.
