This Grand Jamia Masjid is located in Bahira, Lahore, Pakistan. This mosque is the 14th largest mosque in the world in terms of worshiper capacity. 70 thousand worshipers can pray in this mosque at the same time. It is also referred to as the seventh largest mosque in the world by some accounts.

From the outside, this mosque seems to be at least a few hundred years old. But this is not an old mosque, this mosque was inaugurated in 2014 after completion of construction. Built only 5 years ago, this mosque looks hundreds of years old because it is completely modeled after Mughal Islamic architecture.

Badshahi Mosque is a unique example of Mughal architecture, the architectural style of Sheikh Wazir Khan Mosque has been coordinated in the construction of this mosque. This mosque has 21 domes and 4 minarets. The foundation of the entire mosque is 20 feet above the ground. Due to the fusion of Mughal architecture with modern architecture, its ambience is simply breathtaking. The main mosque is a circular mosque.

The main attraction of this mosque is the Rat Dome. The main dome is again surrounded by 20 smaller domes. 4 million hand made Multani tiles are placed on this dome. Each tile is two and a half inches. All these tiles have been installed by the artisans for 4 years.

Moreover, the minaret of this mosque is like a royal one. Each minaret, 165 feet high, has a wooden balcony. The decoration of the minar is also beautiful. Another feature of this mosque is its craftsmanship. Except for the carpet, all the materials of the mosque are made in Pakistan.

Another exceptional feature of this mosque is its shahan or courtyard. Shahan of this mosque is not like other Shahan mosques built during Mughal period. It is modeled after Shahan Charbagh. Charbagh designs are found in Humayun's shrine in Delhi built in 1572, Shah Mosque in Isfahan in Iran built in 1598-1629 and Jahangir's shrine in Lahore.
