Found sugar in space!

The Dhaka Times Desk Every now and then we see the news of many things being found in space. But this time, a little exceptional event is the search for sugar found in space! According to media reports, sugar has been found in space for the first time. Of course, this is not the sugar we eat. But it is considered to be 'Sugar' of the same tribe. The traces of 3 compounds of that sugar family 'Ribose', 'Xylose' and 'Arbinose' were found in two meteorites 'NWA-801' and 'Murchison'. Meteorites are actually formed from parts of an asteroid or an asteroid.

The discovery of these 'sugar' compounds in these two meteorites has strengthened the belief that the sugars were imported to Earth by an impact with an asteroid or meteorite in the past or in the distant past. The research paper has been published in the international science journal 'Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences'.

In that research paper, a group of NASA scientists said that this is basically a novel discovery. The reason is that before this, amino acids, the building blocks of proteins necessary for life, were found in space. Two other building blocks of life were found there, the building blocks of 'DNA' and 'RNA' (nucleobases).

The scientists said, due to this discovery, our belief is strengthened that it is possible to find the existence of life elsewhere in the universe. Because compounds of this sugar family exist elsewhere in the universe. As traces of this compound were found in this solar system, the idea that such compounds arrived on Earth through collisions with asteroids became more mature. In other words, the theory that the seeds of life came from outside 450-500 million years ago also became stronger. After the discovery of sugar in space, scientists believe that the hope of life on other planets outside the earth in the near future has become stronger.
