The Dhaka Times Desk Recently, a mysterious story of a cadre who was stuck in a pit for 4 years came up in the media. That matter can be said to have gone viral in the net world.
But who is actually who? What is his identity? Why did he do that? Such questions are popping up in people's minds. It is known that he can read and write equally in Bengali and English languages. Can also speak beautifully. After finishing high school, he walked on the path of higher education. But fateful Kader's life is currently trapped between a hole and a mahogany trunk lying inside it. But why?
According to media reports, Abdul Quader is mentally challenged. Age will be about 53 years. The house is in Shahajatpur village of Kheshra union of Tala upazila of Satkhira district. He passed Madhyamik in 1982 from Raduli RKBK Harishchandra Collegiate Institute, Paikgacha. After passing higher secondary from Kapilmuni College in 1985, while studying in graduation class in the same college, Quader suddenly suffered brain malformation.
Family sources say that Abdul Quader is the eldest among three sons and three daughters of Shawkat Ali Moral of Shahajatpur village of Tala upazila. Even though the family was not well off, Shaukat's scholarly attitude inspired his children to pursue higher education. But fate did not allow Abdul Quader to continue his cruel destiny. A family dispute over land-acquisition brings his dynamic life to an abrupt halt. As a result, one of his cousins brutally tortured him with a palm wood rule to kill him. Although he survived, Kader suffered severe brain damage.
After selling everything and undergoing treatment, Abdul Quader did not get better even though he survived like a servant. His reading and writing stopped. Then after a few days, sudden confusion in the head started, which got better with local treatment. A decision is made by the family on the advice of the local people, maybe if you get married, there may be brain success in married life. So he was married to a girl named Tashlima. A daughter Fatima was also born in the married life. However, his wife Tashlima died a few days after the birth of her daughter. In loneliness, Kader becomes crazy again. Then again he was married to a girl named Julekha. In their newly married life, two daughters were born again. One of whom is Asma Khatun and the other Faim Khatun.
Abdur Quader's married life was not happy at all. After the birth of the little girl, Faima, Abdul Quader became completely spoiled. Kader started beating relatives, vandalism and harming neighbors. His madness is increasing every day.
At one point, the family members were forced to chain him hand and foot to the balcony. However, annoyed by the continuous loud shouting and obscenities, the family members started tying them to a tree in the garden about 300 feet away from the house. Leaving behind his parents, wife and children, he now lives in a dark hole in the garden next to the house. This solitary life of his prose is chained with one hand and one leg in the rain and night. All hopes and dreams are stuck in a tight hole and a small mahogany tree lying on it! This is how Abdul Quader's life is spent in solitude for the last 4 years in a dark hole.
When he went to the spot on the ground, he was seen as usual. But in conversation he didn't seem mentally retarded at all. At the first appearance, Kader greeted the journalists. Then one by one Kader began to describe all the events of his life accurately. Sometimes he is also seen to be overwhelmed with emotions thinking about the old one. During this time, he also started reminiscing about all the memories of his childhood and youth. But he answered all the questions put to him in a sweet voice and in a melodious tone. However, between the words, Kader expressed his desire to be released from his chained life even for a moment.
Abdul Quader said, you know? I have never held my 4-year-old daughter Faima, never petted her. Kader burst into tears again as he ran away in fear seeing me from a distance.
At one point, when asked for his address to verify the accuracy of his simple confession, he asked for a notebook and a pen to write it down as well as verbally. Then write his biodata in English. But why a healthy person has been tied up like this for 4 years? On asking such a question, Kader's mother and his wife started eye-rolling, whispering and making various gestures among themselves. As if trying to hide something. The question is why their secret? Or is it silence? At the moment, many reasons kept popping up in my mind.
At one stage, Kader's mother Rahima Begum (70) began to describe the various tortures that had happened to her son, but his wife Julekha blocked it. As if a different kind of fear was working in their eyes and faces. They are trying to hide something. However, at one stage of the conversation, the fear of the death of the dying Kader came up again and again. But what is their fear? A comprehensive search can turn up a lot of information.
In this regard, local UP chairman lecturer Rajib Hossain Raju said that he did not know that a man was living a cruel life in his union. Recently went to see him with the help of a local fire service worker. He also provided immediate support. The UP Chairman also had the mindset of doing something for Abdul Quader in the future.
In such a situation, the family as well as the residents demand that Abdul Quader can return to a healthy life with proper treatment. Can get back his normal life. But that requires goodwill as well as financial support. That's why they wanted the rich as well as public-private cooperation. Source: Ittefaq.
