Total public holidays in 2020 are 22 days, out of which 14 days are general holidays and 8 days are holidays by government executive order. There is an optional holiday of 5 days for Muslims, 8 days of optional holiday for Hindus, 8 days of optional holiday for Christians and 5 days of optional holiday for Buddhists. On the other hand, there are 2 days off for the hilly areas especially for small ethnic groups including Baisavi and other events. However, out of the total 22 days of public holidays in 2020, 8 days are weekends on Friday and Saturday.
