Google Chrome will delete unused apps

Not only Windows, Mac and Linux, but also Chrome's own operating system browser will not have unused apps. Google says it will gradually remove unused apps by 2022.

Apps that perform various tasks in the browser are known as Chrome extensions. These web-based apps make various tasks easier for Chrome browser users. For example, a Chrome user can take any screenshot of the computer through the respective app.

According to new information, Chrome Webstore will stop accepting new apps by March 2020. However, developers can update apps currently in the Chrome Store if they wish until June 2022. After that, Google has also said that all kinds of app support for customers will be stopped gradually from Chrome's side. However, even after June 2020, Chrome Enterprise or Chrome Education users will get additional 6 months of app support.

In 2018, Google announced the closure of all support services for the Chrome app. That's when the Apps section was removed from the Chrome Web Store.
