Iran signal to withdraw from the nuclear agreement!

The Dhaka Times Desk As a last resort, Iran has indicated that it will withdraw from the nuclear deal signed with 6 world powers. The country's President Hassan Rouhani's Chief of Staff has given such an indication in a report of the state news agency IRNA.

It said the president's chief of staff, Mahmoud Vaezi, said another option for Iran was to withdraw from the 2015 nuclear deal. Mahmoud Vaezi commented that President Hassan Rouhani had highlighted the possibility of Iran withdrawing from the nuclear agreement in a letter written to the European Union.

Last week, Britain, Germany and France formally accused Iran of not complying with the terms of the nuclear deal. In a joint statement of these three countries, the information about the initiation of the dispute resolution of the nuclear agreement has been informed.

The statement also said that Iran is gradually violating the terms of the agreement. In 2015, Iran's nuclear deal was signed with the European Union, the United States, China and Russia in Vienna. The US pulled out of the deal in 2018 citing Iran's non-compliance.

The US killing of General Qasem Soleimani, the head of Iran's military's elite Quds Force, has sparked renewed tensions between Tehran and Washington in the Middle East. In such a situation, Iran announced on January 6 that it would not accept the terms of the nuclear deal.

After Iran's announcement, there are fears that the country may use uranium to make nuclear weapons and nuclear reactors. However, with the declaration of non-compliance with the limits of nuclear enrichment, Iran has pledged to continue cooperation with UN observers.

A statement from Germany, France and the United Kingdom said that recent events have made it crucial that we never add a nuclear proliferation crisis to the ongoing tensions that threaten the entire region. Iran, Russia, France, China, Germany and the United Kingdom will now meet in Vienna for a political-level meeting over Tehran's violation of the terms of the deal. There will be an attempt to formally resolve the dispute. Even if this dispute is not resolved, Iran may be subject to UN sanctions, political analysts believe.
