The virus killed about 650 people in Hong Kong and China. The area of this temporary hospital in Hushenshan, Wuhan is 25,000 square meters.

The construction of the hospital started on January 24 after the outbreak of the Corona virus in Wuhan. Another hospital was opened the next day (25 January) in Wuhan's Jiangxia district as the virus continued to spread.

The 1,600-bed hospital named 'Thunder God Mountain' will be opened on Thursday. The new hospital is being built by joining two smaller pre-made buildings together.

Construction of the hospital was broadcast live on China's state television CCTV. In 2003, the hospital built in Beijing in 7 days to deal with Sars virus was a world record.

Millions of people are watching this scene of hospital construction on television. About four million people in China also watched live streaming of the hospital construction, the Global Times said.

An official named Yangzhong Huang said China has a history of implementing projects like this hospital very quickly.

Like the hospital in Beijing, the Hushenshan Hospital in Wuhan is being built by joining together smaller buildings that have already been built.

Huang also said that contractors from all over the country were brought to Wuhan to finish the construction work very quickly. He said, China is a very efficient country in engineering work. It is hard to imagine for Western countries. But it is possible for China to do it.
