Pictures can also put you in danger!

The Dhaka Times Desk According to new research, cyber crooks can use different pictures of loved ones to trick e-mails or links loaded with malware or malicious programs.

It is known that recently this type of fraud is spreading more online. This is called 'Sextorson'. Alan Woodward, a researcher at the University of Surrey, said that crooks are using old tricks to create new scams. Such images are claimed to have been secretly collected from webcams or other sources. They also try to collect money in the name of spreading these pictures. The 'naked girlfriend' trick is said to be demanding up to $500.

Cyber security experts say that crooks hack someone's account or collect nude photos in any way. Then started blackmail with it. They have threatened to spread the pictures among their friends if the money is not paid as per their demand. Those who receive mails to view such images, if they click on the mail attachment, may be in danger. The word document is also included in the attachment with a blurry image.

Instructions on how to get all the images are also given. If someone is more interested, malicious applications will be downloaded on his device. Cyber security experts say never click on links in any tempting or attractive email. Never click the 'Enable Content' option after downloading any attachment in a Microsoft Office application.
