The Dhaka Times Desk RAB recovered a 200-year-old bell metal pot in Najipur old market area of Naogaon district's Patnitala upazila.
Last Sunday at noon, Gaur Chowdhury and Md. RAB-5 Jaipurhat RAB Camp Commander Additional Superintendent of Police MM Mohaimenur Rashid recovered the pot kept by two persons named Sohail.
RAB official Mohaimenur Rashid said that the bell metal, a gold-colored spherical pot-like archeological artifact dating back to the 18th century, was found while digging the pond. Later the pot was hidden from them. After getting to know the matter, the vessel was recovered by raiding there. He also said that the pot weighing about three kilograms is worth about 8 crore rupees.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon of that day, in the presence of Patnitala Upazila Nirbahi Officer Liton Sarkar and police officer in-charge Parimal Chakraborty, the custodian of Naogaon Paharpur Buddhist Vihar Museum and the Naogaon Regional Assistant Director of Archeology Department, the bell metal, a pot-like archeological artefact of golden color, was presented. Said Inam was handed over to Tanvirul.
