In Germany it has already been applied to the human body. It will be pushed to the human body in the US next week. German company BioEntech said the vaccine is expected to be on the market later this year.

German pharmaceutical company BioEntech and another US-based company Pfizer have been conducting joint research on the potential vaccine for a long time. This is one of the 8 potential corona vaccines that have been approved for human use in the world so far.

The chief executive officer (CEO) of the German company BioEntech, Ugur Sahin, told the US news media CAN that they will be able to produce a few hundred thousand doses of the vaccine by the end of 2020 if the clinical trial is approved.

Bioentech CEO Ugur Sahin believes that it is possible to approve a vaccine in a much shorter time with historical speed due to the global epidemic.

He also said, 'The benefits of vaccines (ie, immunization) are immense in any epidemic situation. Therefore, in this current pandemic, vaccine approval may be done differently than in the past. We have to walk a different path.'

Bioentech CEO also said about the potential of this vaccine, 'We can see that this vaccine is working. Even at low doses, this vaccine has shown strong responses. We have applied this vaccine to different animals. It has also been quite effective. We believe that this vaccine will work similarly in humans.'

BioEntech said in a statement on Wednesday that this potential vaccine named BNT162 was administered to 12 volunteers in Germany from April 23 to April 29. The next step will be to apply it to another 200 volunteers; Who will be between 18 to 55 years of age.

Pfizer, the potential vaccine's US partner company, said that it will use the vaccine in humans within the next week after receiving approval from the country's relevant authorities for human application in the United States. By next autumn, which can be used for urgent needs.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 108 potential vaccines are being developed around the world to prevent the epidemic novel corona virus infected with Covid-19.
