Mandatory quarantine in Spain from Friday

The Dhaka Times Desk All travelers entering Spain from other countries must undergo a mandatory 14-day home quarantine. While in quarantine, they can only go to health centers and pharmacies.

Not only that, they have to wear mandatory masks. This directive has been implemented in the country since yesterday (Friday). This directive was published in the State Official Bulletin (BOE) from the Ministry of Health of Spain last Tuesday.

The instructions given by the Ministry of Health of Spain inform that from Friday during the state of emergency, i.e. until May 24, all travelers who enter Spain must remain in a 14-day home quarantine. However, if the state of emergency is approved by Parliament in light of the situation, the directive for those entering Spain will remain in force until the extension of the state of emergency.

According to a report published in the local newspaper 'El Pais', Spain has confirmed the home quarantine of travelers entering the country in line with the measures taken by European countries to combat the corona virus. Previously only quarantined residents of Spain arriving from other countries and Spanish residents traveling from Italy were instructed to enter the 14-day quarantine.

But according to the new gazette, from Friday all international travelers will have to stay in home quarantine upon entering Spain. While under home quarantine, they are only allowed to visit health centers to buy essential items such as food and medicine and to seek medical assistance. Always wear a mask.

During quarantine, health authorities will contact individuals to check their health status and will be instructed to call the health service themselves if they develop symptoms of coronavirus. Airline authorities will issue passenger location cards and passengers must carry the card when entering Spain, the order has been issued.
