Saudi Arabia will quarantine all banknotes for 20 days!

The Dhaka Times Desk To prevent the spread of the deadly corona virus, Saudi Arabia has decided to quarantine all types of banknotes and coins collected from local and international markets for 14 to 20 days.

The decision was announced by the country's Monetary Authority (SAMA). According to news reports on Friday (May 22), the Saudi authorities have decided to quarantine banknotes and coins to reduce health risks.

The country's currency authority said in a statement that 'banknotes and coins will be taken through special measures to ensure security in use. These will then be automatically separated by machines as per the standards set by the organization. Dirty and unusable notes will be destroyed immediately.'

According to the Worldometer data, 67 thousand 719 people have been infected with corona virus in the country so far. 364 people have died from this virus. Among the infected, 39 thousand 3 people have recovered.

Saudi Arabia is also limiting the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr to fight the corona virus. A strict lockdown has been imposed in the country throughout the month of Ramadan.
