Every day hundreds of people are getting infected with corona in India and hundreds of people are dying. A new fear has spread in the state of Bihar in such a dire situation. A mass die-off of bats has started in a village in the state.

According to Indian media, the bodies of more than two hundred bats were recovered near Tarari in Bihar's Bhojpur district on Monday.

District Animal Resources Directorate official Siddhanath Roy said that a team of 6 doctors reached the spot on Tuesday after receiving the information. However, the official did not want to comment on why the bats died.

He said that the saliva of the dead bats was collected. It is being sent to the Ratner Institute of Animal Health and Production for testing. Only after receiving the report from there will it be possible to know the actual cause of bat death.

The local administration said that the dead bodies of the bats were buried 5/6 feet deep in the soil following proper hygiene. As a precautionary measure, the incident site and surrounding areas are also sanitized.
