Donkey arrested for gambling!

The Dhaka Times Desk জুয়া খেলায় জড়িত থাকার অপরাধে একগাধাকে এবার গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে! তিন অভিযুক্তের সঙ্গে ওই গাধাটিকে থানায় আটকে রেখেছে পুলিশ।

এমন একটি ঘটনা প্রকাশ্যে আসতেই নেট দুনিয়ায় হাসির খোরাকে পরিণত হয়েছে। এই অভিনব ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে পাকিস্তানের পাঞ্জাব প্রদেশে। পাঞ্জাবের রহিম ইয়ান খান শহরে গাধাদের রেস করে জুয়া খেলা চালানো হচ্ছিল। এমন ঘটনায় অভিযুক্ত ৮ জনসহ উক্ত গাধাটিকেও গ্রেফতার করে পুলিশ। তাদের কাছ থেকে লক্ষাধিক টাকাও উদ্ধার করা হয়।

গাধাটিকে গ্রেফতার করার কারণ হিসেবে পুলিশ বলেছে যে, গাধাটির নামে থানায় এফআইআর করা হয়েছিল। তাই সেটিকে আপাতত থানার বাইরেই বেঁধে রাখা হয়।

জানা গেছে, জুয়া খেলার বিষয়ই ছিল গাধার দৌড়। কোন গাধা এই প্রতিযোগিতায় জিতবে, তার উপর লাগানো হয় বাজি। অভিযুক্তরা সেই গাধার উপর টাকাও লাগিয়েছিল। যা দেশটির আইন অনুযায়ী বেআইনি একটি কাজ। খবর পেয়ে ঘটনা স্থলে পৌঁছে যায় পুলিশ। গ্রেফতার করে ৮ ব্যক্তি এবং একটি গাধাকে।
