The mosque you see in the picture is the historical Tentulia Jame Masjid. It is a historical mosque in Tala upazila of Satkhira district.
Tentulia Jame Masjid is a unique example of 18th century Muslim architecture in Tentulia village located 3 km from Tala Upazila Sadar in Satkhira district. This mosque is locally known as Miyar Masjid or Tentulia Jame Masjid, but the original name of the mosque is Tentulia Khan Bahadur Kazi Salamatullah Jame Masjid. From the inscription found on the mosque, it is known that in 1270 Bengal Zamindar Salamatullah Khan built this mosque after the design of Kolkata's 'Sindur Patti' mosque.
There are 7 doors 9 feet high and 4 feet wide to enter the mosque. Built on 12 pillars with lime surki and Gathuni in Chittagong, this mosque also has 6 domes and 20 towering minarets on the roof.
More than 500 Muslims can pray together inside and outside Tentulia Jame Masjid. There is another historic mosque called Tentulia Shahi Mosque just 100 yards away from the historic Tentulia Jame Mosque, which is about 150 years old. Since 1987, Bangladesh Archaeological Directorate has been in charge of the maintenance of Tentulia Jame Masjid.
