The Dhaka Times Desk Comilla University's Rana Majumdar came up with a plan to generate electricity in a different way. And so he invented 'dynamo', a device to generate electricity from magnetic field through the speed of bicycle wheel.
Rana Majumder claimed that it is possible to run electric lamps, fans, TVs and even water pumps from this electricity generated at low cost.
Its inventor Rana Majumdar was born in Sawratali of Sadar Dakshin Upazila of Comilla District. He is the sixth of eight children born to father Salim Majumder and mother Zafura Begum. He is studying in the chemistry department of Comilla University.
Rana Majumdar said that the device to generate electricity from the bicycle wheel has already been discovered. However, this young inventor claims that his invention is different from them. This young man also claimed that it will be possible to meet the needs of a family through the electricity generated from the bicycle in case of load shedding. In addition, electricity can be generated using this cycle dynamo in areas where electricity has not yet reached. Rana Majumdar also said that electricity can be generated while exercising on a bicycle.
Rana Majumdar said, 'When I was a child, when I used to make a fan with a motor, an idea always came to my mind. A motor rotates in connection with electricity, but if we rotate the motor in another way, what electricity can be produced? It is possible to turn that thought into reality with the bicycle dynamo.
However, Rana Majumder is in favor of making this machine on a large scale for the time being due to financial difficulties. It will be possible to produce bicycle dynamos on a large scale if the government or any big organization sponsors it. He also said that it will be able to play a role in the production of electricity at the national level.
