Big mosque of historic Hajiganj

The scene you are seeing is the big mosque of Hajiganj. It is a historical mosque. This mosque is located in the middle of Hajiganj market in Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur district.

Hajiganj Big Mosque was built in 1931 AD. This mosque is considered as the oldest mosque in Chandpur district. The first entrepreneur and founder of this mosque was Haji Ahmad Ali Patwari. At the time of construction of this mosque, there was no brick kiln in Hajiganj or its vicinity. Then the founder of the mosque built a brick kiln there. Then he made bricks there and built the mosque with those bricks. He chartered a ship to Kolkata, India and bought iron beams and marble stones to build the mosque. Subsequently, the work of this mosque was completed around 1937 AD and the mosque was inaugurated by giving Azaan in the mosque on one of the Fridays.
