Konya in Turkey is one of the oldest cities in the world. The city is well known for its magnificent Seljuk architecture and whirling Sufi dervishes.

Konya is a big city in Central Anatolia region of Turkey. During the 12th and 13th centuries, Kanya was recognized as the capital city during the rule of the Seljuk dynasty. The Alauddin Mosque and Seljuk Palace built at that time still garner praise. The Dargah of the Persian theologian and Sufi figure Rumi Sharif is one of the most visited places in Konya. Originally the followers of Rumi were the inventors of the Mevlevi order. The one we know better as the Whirling Dervish. These followers walk around on their left foot in white gowns till their feet in their religious ceremonies.
