Mahbube Alam's funeral at Supreme Court premises at 11 am

The Dhaka Times Desk Attorney General Mahbub Alam's funeral prayers will be held today (Monday) at 8 am at his Minto Road residence and at 11 am at the Supreme Court premises.

Also, the body of Attorney General Mahbube Alam will be buried in Mirpur Intellectual Cemetery after the Janaza, Law Minister Anisul Haque told the media.

Mahbube Alam died yesterday (Sunday) while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital. He was 71 years old at the time of his death. Doctors on duty declared him dead at 7:25 pm while undergoing treatment.

On the night of September 3, the Attorney General felt fever in his body. The next day on the morning of September 4, when the corona test was done, his report came positive. On the same day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered him to be admitted to the Combined Military Hospital - CMH in the capital. On September 18, his condition deteriorated and he was shifted to the ICU. However, on September 20, his family also announced that he was free of corona.

It should be noted that this senior lawyer of the Supreme Court served as Additional Attorney General of Bangladesh from November 15, 1998 to October 4, 2001. Mahbube Alam was elected Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association in 1993-94 and President in 2005-2006. Mahbube Alam was appointed as the Attorney General of Bangladesh from January 13, 2009.
