The Dhaka Times Desk Actor and Member of Parliament for Dhaka-17 constituency Farooq is not known even after several rounds of treatment in the country. However, he was diagnosed with TB in Singapore.
On September 13, his wife went to Singapore on a special cargo plane. Farooq is currently undergoing treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. His wife Farhana Farooq is there with him. After going to Singapore, the two completed the 14-day quarantine period and started treatment. Finally it was known that he had TB disease.
Yesterday (Monday) Farooq told the media, 'My physical condition is very good now. After many tests I was diagnosed with the disease. My blood has been diagnosed with TB. I am being treated under four specialists including Doctor Lai Chung here.'
He also said, 'I have to stay under their observation for four weeks. Everyone will pray for me. May I recover and return to the country quickly.'
It is to be noted that Nayak and Member of Parliament Farooq have received treatment at Dhaka's United and Evercare (Apelo) hospitals. Later, he was taken to Singapore in a special flight on the morning of September 13 for better treatment.
