The Dhaka Times Desk A teacher was promoted in violation of seniority by falsifying information. The deprived senior teacher of that college has finally approached the court.

It is their responsibility to guide the nation in the right direction and make them real people who have nothing to say if they resort to irregularities and corruption. A similar incident happened in Keshabpur High School and College of Bagha Upazila of Rajshahi.

Principal of Keshavpur High School and College submitted teacher pattern for promotion of a junior teacher by violating seniority through corruption. Despite complaints in this regard, the Regional Director sent a recommendation report to the Department of Secondary and Higher Education for promotion without verification. The junior teacher of the college was promoted as an assistant professor on the basis of fraudulent information. In the MPO meeting of last July, the junior lecturer said. After the matter came to light, it reached the court. Deprived of promotion, municipal policy teacher Moha: Hossain Kabir approached the court. Principal of Keshavpur High School and College. Kamaruzzaman and the regional director of Rajshahi Prof. Dr. Md. Written complaint against Kamal Hossain and filed a case in court. অভিযোগ সম্পর্কে জানতে চাইলে রাজশাহীর আঞ্চলিক পরিচালক অধ্যাপক ড. মো. কামাল হোসেন একটি সংবাদ মাধ্যমকে বলেছেন, ‘অনলাইনে অধ্যক্ষের পাঠানো তথ্যের ভিত্তিতেই মো. সামরুল হককে পদোন্নতি দেওয়া হয়েছে। ইতিমধ্যে অধ্যক্ষকে শোকজও করা হয়েছে। অভিযোগের পর অধ্যক্ষের পাঠানো কাগজপত্রে টেম্পারিংয়ের প্রমাণও পাওয়া গেছে। সরেজমিন তদন্ত করে অধ্যক্ষকে শোকজ করা হয়। তবে পদোন্নতি পাওয়া শিক্ষক নিঃশর্ত ক্ষমা চেয়েছেন লিখিতভাবে। অবশ্য আইনগতভাবে আঞ্চলিক অফিসের কোনও ত্রুটি দেখা যাচ্ছে না।’

অভিযোগ সম্পর্কে জানতে চাইলে অধ্যক্ষ মো. কামারুজ্জামান ওই সংবাদ মাধ্যমকে ব্যাখ্যা দিতে গিয়ে তুলে ধরেন, ‘অফিসের বেশিরভাগ কাজ করেন জীববিজ্ঞান বিষয়ের প্রভাষক মো. সামরুল হক। যেহেতু কাগজগুলো স্ক্যান করে অনলাইনে পাঠাতে হয়েছে, তাকেই কাগজগুলো পাঠাতে বলেছিলাম। কাগজপত্র স্ক্যান করতে গিয়ে উনিই ভুল করেছেন। তিনি লিখিতভাবে স্বীকারও করেছেন। সেই কারণে আমি তাকে শোকজও করেছি।’ তবে মামলা হওয়ার পর ওই শিক্ষককে ভুল করেছেন মর্মে স্বীকারোক্তি লিখতে বাধ্য করা হয়েছে বলেও অভিযোগ রয়েছে।

বিষয়টি সংশোধনের জন্য আঞ্চলিক অফিসে নিজেও আবেদন করেছেন বলে জানিয়েছেন অধ্যক্ষ মো. কামারুজ্জামান। তিনি বলেন, ‘আমি ভুল হয়ে গেছে বলে আঞ্চলিক অফিসে একটি আবেদনও করেছিলাম। সরেজমিনে তদন্ত করার জন্য আঞ্চলিক পরিচালককে অনুরোধও করেছিলাম।’

এদিকে অধ্যক্ষের উপরোক্ত বক্তব্যের বিষয়ে দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করা হলে আঞ্চলিক পরিচালক অধ্যাপক ড. মো. কামাল হোসেন বলেন, ‘অধ্যক্ষ কার মাধ্যমে অনলাইনে কাগজ পাঠিয়েছেন, তা আমাদের দেখার বিষয় নয়। পুরো দায়িত্ব অধ্যক্ষের। তদন্তের মাধ্যমে প্রশাসনিক ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হবে।’

এই বিষয়ে পদোন্নতি বঞ্চিত শিক্ষক মোহা: হোসেন কবির বলেন, ‘পদোন্নতি পাইয়ে দিতে নিয়োগ ও যোগদানের তারিখ বদলিয়ে জীববিজ্ঞান বিভাগের প্রভাষক মো. সামরুল হককে সিনিয়র দেখিয়ে শিক্ষক প্যাটার্ন তৈরি করেছেন অধ্যক্ষ নিজেই। বিষয়টি জানতে পেরে গত ২৩ ফেব্রুয়ারি আঞ্চলিক পরিচালক বরাবর অভিযোগ করেছি। আঞ্চলিক পরিচালকের নির্দেশ ও পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী ২৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি অধ্যক্ষ বরাবর জ্যেষ্ঠতার ভিত্তিতে পদোন্নতির সুপারিশের জন্য আবেদন জানানো হয়।’ তবে অধ্যক্ষ বিষয়টি আমলে না নিয়েই জীববিজ্ঞানের প্রভাষক সামরুল হককে সিনিয়র হিসেবে উল্লেখ করে আঞ্চলিক অফিসে তালিকা পাঠান। অধ্যক্ষের পাঠানো তথ্য অনুযায়ীই রাজশাহীর আঞ্চলিক অফিস জীববিজ্ঞানের প্রভাষক মো. সামরুল হককে পদোন্নতি দেন। আর আমি বঞ্চিত হই। সে কারণেই আমি মামলা করেছি।’
