By 2021, the number of people living in extreme poverty could rise to one and a half million (15 crore). Living on less than $1.90 (Tk 161 in Bangladeshi currency) a day is defined as extreme poverty.
In the World Bank's biennial report on poverty and prosperity, the world faced such a situation for the first time in 1998. At that time, the Asian economic crisis hit the entire world economy.
Before the Corona situation, it was estimated that in 2020 the global extreme poverty rate could fall to 7.9 percent. But this year, between 9.1 and 9.4 percent of the world's population will have a massive impact.

On the other hand, it can be seen that the wealth of the world's richest people increased by 27.5 percent to 10.2 trillion dollars between April and July during the Corona period.
