The Dhaka Times Desk Recently, scientists have found the oldest tree in the world. The name of this tree is “Sunland Baobab”, which grows in tropical Africa. This tree is more than 6 thousand years old!
But the most interesting thing is that there is a bar in the hollow trunk of the tree! The baobab tree is also known as Adansonia. The Sunland baobab is the most famous and the oldest of the large species of trees native to central and adjacent Africa. The plant is found in the Lippo province of South Africa.
Inside that tree is a very large kathra (hole made of wood) like space. Interestingly, it is not man-made. This wood is naturally made! A bar was built inside the barn in 1993, originally owned by the Van Hardin family.
Only a group of 15 people can enter the tree at a time, with small entrances that are 13 feet high. It is known that the diameter of the tree is about 35 feet!
