Planting of saffron tubers starts from September. By October it flowers again. Those flowers are purple in color. from which the stigma is extracted. Apart from Pampore, saffron is also cultivated in Kistbar district. This year saffron has been cultivated in 3 thousand 715 hectares of land, according to a news report of Genius.
