The Dhaka Times Desk Every now and then we see reports of ships disappearing in the Bermuda Triangle. Bermuda Triangle is really a mystery of the world. Bermuda Triangle with 20 passengers, the ship 'disappeared' again!
The Bermuda Triangle is known as an impenetrable mystery. Although the world has come a long way in technological excellence, no one has been able to solve this mystery till date. This region is located between Florida and the Bahamas in the United States. Anything that goes here 'disappears'.
Now a cabin ship named Mako Kuddi has gone missing there with 20 passengers. After a three-day search, the United States Coast Guard announced the suspension of the search last Saturday.
The vessel was last scheduled to leave Bimini Island last Monday and arrive in Lake Worth, in the US state of Florida, about 80 miles (130 kilometers) away, the Coast Guard said. However, the Coast Guard said in a statement on Tuesday that the vessel has not returned to port.
Over the next three days, for about 84 hours, joint teams from both countries searched 17,000 square miles (about 44,000 kilometers) of sea by air and at sea. However, they announced the suspension of the search operation on Friday as no trace of the ship was found.
Seventh District Captain Stephen V. Bardian said in a statement, "Our deepest condolences go out to the families of the missing." I am also praying for the missing. We asked the residents of the neighboring coast for help. They are also requested to contact us as soon as possible if they have any information about the missing persons.
US Coast Guard Public Affairs Officer 1st Class Jose Hernandez said search and rescue operations were challenged by rough seas and limited information on vessels plying the route. The hard part is that the longer it takes to find someone, the less likely they are to be rescued alive.
It should be noted that the Bermuda Triangle is a special triangular area in the northwestern part of the Atlantic Ocean. At the end of World War II, on December 5, 1945, 5 TVM Avenger aircraft and a rescue aircraft mysteriously disappeared. Still, several ships and aircraft went missing there.
Most scholars say that William Shakespeare's play The Tempest is based on a shipwreck in the Bermuda Triangle, adding a new dimension to the mystery surrounding it. Before the 20th century, people rarely showed interest in the news of these accidents. But in 1918, a 542-foot-long US cargo ship sank somewhere unknown between Barbados and Sesapeake Bay. The ship carried 300 men and about 10,000 tons of manganese. The vessel made no warning or distress call prior to its disappearance, and despite extensive searches, no part of it or any reason for its disappearance has been found. Then US President Woodrow Wilson later said of the ship, “Only God and this sea know what happened to the ship.
Also in 1941, two Cyclops ships disappeared for no apparent reason along the same route. Then people around the world began to believe that ships crossing the Bermuda Triangle would either disappear or be found abandoned. Over the years, dozens of ships and planes have mysteriously disappeared, and the Bermuda Triangle has been dubbed a fictional region of horror through movies, TV documentaries, novels, and pop songs. But till date no one has been able to unravel its secret.
