Hasanuzzaman There has been a demand to build a culture university in Keshavpur, the memorial site of Michael Madhusudan Dutt in Jessore district.
This demand for the lives of the people of Anjal has now spread not only in Jessore but also in the entire country after breaking the wall of Khulna division. In 2010, the Hon'ble Prime Minister came to inaugurate the Jessore Science and Technology University and expressed his solidarity with the demands of the people of Jessore district and said that steps should be taken to implement the demands. But with the passage of time, as the demand is still not implemented, there is frustration among the people of this Anjal. Sagardandi village of Keshabpur upazila of Jessore district needs no introduction. The modern and revolutionary poet of Bengali literature Michael Madhusudan Dutta was born here. He introduced sonnet and rhyming in poetry. Through the epic 'Meghnadhavadh, creation, the poet has spread his identity everywhere. The poem 'Meghnadabadh' has been printed not only in Bengali but also in other languages.
Dhiraj Bhatracharya, a popular Indian film hero of the fifties, was born in Panjia, Keshavpur. He acted in more than 40 movies and about 50 plays. After completing his school life in Panjia, he went to Kolkata and started his studies. From his college life, he became interested in acting in films. He made his film debut at the hands of director Madhu Babu. Among his popular movies Mrinalini, Naukadubi, Dhumketu, Giribal, Kal Parinay are notable.
Kolkata's Bangla Academy award-winning writer Manoj Bose's house is also in Keshavpur's Dongaghat village. He was born in a middle-class family but became a literary man through relentless efforts. His books like 'Bamboo Fort, Bholi Nai, Kancher Akash, Delhi Far Away, Kingshuk, Mayakanya, Amar Fansi etc. have managed to win the hearts of the readers.
Sikandar Abu Jafar, the director of Bengali literature, and artist Jahaji were born in Tala, a neighboring upazila of Keshavpur. In this way, many well-known faces in various fields of literature are born in this Anjale. The land of Keshavpur is blessed because of these virtuous people.
To advance a nation, it is necessary to give priority to its education. Because no one can progress without education. Patterns of education have changed over time. Education is now of two types. Academic education and education for enlightenment. The development of the nation cannot be expected with educated people in academic education. Education for enlightenment plays an important role in social change. People like Michael Madhusudan Dutta, Dhiraj Bhatracharya and Manoj Basud have worked all their lives not for themselves but for the nation. With the philosophy left by them, since the 60s, the National Children and Youth Organization Khelgar has been working continuously with the aim of developing the children of this Anjale into enlightened human beings. The purpose of the theater is to create a science-minded, humanistic Bangladesh that believes in the spirit of the liberation war.
As a result, the movement to establish a cultural university in Ajna, which is known as a pilgrimage site of culture, is intensifying day by day. Apart from this, demands have been made to take the house of Dhiraj Bhatracharya and Manoj Bose under the Directorate of Archeology and make proper preservation arrangements, establish a children's library and above all organize a week-long fair every year. The support of the common people along with this demand of the cultural activists of the area made the demand a logical demand.
