However, Dr. Oxford-Astrazenekar said that the rate of side effects is very low. Shamsul Haque said the side effect rate is about 2 to 3 percent. However, any vaccine can have mild to moderate or severe side effects. However, there is also a word called anaphylaxis where children and adults are vaccinated in Bangladesh. Anaphylaxis is a fatal reaction that can occur. But there are different stages of anaphylaxis. But one thing we will say is that those who will vaccinate us, those who will be in the vaccination center, will be informed about these things.
He also said that we will have central medical teams at upazila, district and central levels to consider the side effects and necessary and sufficient medicines for anaphylaxis will also be kept at the center. So that the medical team can attend there immediately or come to the upazila hospital. If such an accident happens in Upazila Hospital, preparations will be made there too.
In that press conference, Director General of the Department of Health Professor Dr. Abul Basar Mohammad Khurshid Alam said that the first shipment of corona vaccine will arrive in the country between 21st and 25th January of this month. After all preparations, corona vaccination will start in the first week of February.
