Inauguration of corona vaccination program in the country

The Dhaka Times Desk The corona virus vaccination program in the country was officially inaugurated by giving KoviShield vaccine to nurse Runu Veronica Costa of Kurmitola Hospital.

প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা বলেন, “আমাদের দুর্ভাগ্য হলো কিছু কিছু লোক থাকে যারা সবকিছুতেই নেতিবাচক ধারণা পোষণ করে থাকেন। হয়তো মানুষ তাদের কাছে কোনো সাহায্যও পায় না, তবে কোন কাজ করতে গেলে সেখানে বিরূপ সমালোচনা, মানুষের মধ্যে সন্দেহ ঢোকানো, মানুষকে ভয়ভীতি দেওয়া, এই ধরনের কিছু কাজের কারও কারও অভ্যাস রয়েছে”।

তিনি আরও বলেন, আমি চা’ই, তারা সাহস করে আসবেন। আমরা তাদেরকেও ভ্যাকসিন দেবো, যাতে করে তারাও সুরক্ষিত থাকেন। তাদের কিছু হলে আমাদের কে সমালোচনা করবে?

উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী জাহিদ মালেক বলেন, কোভিশিল্ড নামে যে টিকাটি বাংলাদেশে দেওয়া হচ্ছে, “এ পর্যন্ত এটিই সবচেয়ে নিরাপদ ভ্যাকসিন হিসেবে বিবেচিত অন্য সব ভ্যাকসিনের তুলনায়”।

On the opening day of the program today (Wednesday), a total of 27 people of different categories and occupations were given corona vaccination at Kurmitola Hospital. Among them are doctors, nurses, law enforcement officers, journalists and other professionals. However, all those who will be vaccinated except for the first phase from tomorrow are health workers involved in the treatment of corona virus patients.

The vaccine they are being given is the CoviShield vaccine, invented by Oxford-AstraZeneca and produced at the Serum Institute of India. 7 million doses of Covishield have been stockpiled so far.

Apart from Kurmitola, the remaining 3 hospitals will be given this vaccination. The hospitals are - Uttara Kuwait Maitri Hospital, Mugda Medical College Hospital and Dhaka Medical College Hospital. These people will be kept under observation from then on. The full vaccination program will begin on February 8. At the beginning, you will get people from different professions in the front row. Also, people above 55 years of age will also get a chance to get vaccinated.

But for this you have to register on a website called Suraksha (https://www.surokkha.gov.bd/) with National Identity Card and mobile number. Later, the scheduled place and time for vaccination will be informed through SMS on the mobile number.

Different stages of vaccination:

Registration: Individuals will be registered through national identity card verification.
Vaccine Card: The vaccine card should be collected from the web portal.
Sending SMS messages : Sending vaccine delivery date and information.
First Dose : Given on specified date and time.
Second Dose : Given on specified date and time.
Vaccine Certificate: Can be collected from the portal after taking two doses.

Things to do to prevent Corona virus

# stay at home all the time.
# Follow the rules and use mask when going out for emergency.
# three-layer surgical mask can be washed if desired.
# wash clothes after coming home from outside. Or hang it without shaking for at least four hours.
# Wash hands thoroughly (for at least 20 seconds) with soap or liquid before coming outside.
# plastic PPE or eyes, mouth, head after single use

Of course it can be washed thoroughly with detergent and dried.
# Wear PPE made of cloth or clean as described.
# Use a head cap that completely covers the hair.
# Those who have sneeze cough should follow all the rules promulgated by the government. Also, wash hands as directed before and after handling food items, keys, switches, mice, remote controls, mobiles, watches, computer desks, TVs, etc. and after using the bathroom. Those who have dry hands use Moisture after washing their hands. Soap or hand liquid can be used. Why dry hands?

Crackle (cracked part) gap can remain this virus. Avoid using highly alkaline soaps or detergents.
