'Cycling' can cut cancer risk in half

The Dhaka Times Desk The habit of cycling is decreasing day by day. We are becoming more dependent on motorized vehicles. But this bike can reduce the risk of half of cancer!

A British study on the health effects of people who commute to work has found that cycling to work can halve the risk of cancer and heart disease.

This study was conducted on 2 lakh 50 thousand office commuters for the last 5 years. It has been found that those dependent on two wheels are able to reduce the risk of several life-threatening diseases than others.

Among the office commuters who participated in the 5 years of the study, 2,430 died, 3,748 were diagnosed with cancer and 1,110 were diagnosed with heart disease. But those who commute to office by bicycle, reduce the risk of cancer by 45% and reduce the risk of heart disease by 46%!

According to the study, they cycled an average of 30 miles per week. Those who cycle more than that, are healthier. The research report was published in the British Medical Journal. And those who walk to work also reduce the risk of heart disease. But walking at least 6 miles a week will make it possible.

Dr. Jason Gill, a researcher at the University of Glasgow, said that it has now been proven that there is a relationship between who goes to work and their health risks. The benefits of cycling to work in particular are undeniable. Cycling becomes a habit. You don't have to fight with your mind.

Exactly what causes cycling to reduce cancer risk, however, was not determined in this study. But one explanation is that cycling reduces body fat and inflammation. Claire Hyde of Cancer Research UK, Britain's top private cancer research institute, said the research shows that the more active people are in their daily lives, the lower their risk of the disease.

However, the popularity of cycling in Bangladesh is increasing recently. It can be felt when you go out on the streets of the capital Dhaka. On the other hand, the country's bicycle sales business has also increased commercially.

Those who have dry hands use Moisture after washing their hands. Soap or hand liquid can be used. Why can this virus remain in the crackle (cracked part) of dry hands? Avoid using highly alkaline soaps or detergents.
