The Dhaka Times Desk On the night of March 29, the holy Shabbat will be celebrated. This information was given after the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the Islamic Foundation Baitul Mukarram meeting room on Sunday at 6:30 pm.
The meeting was informed that no moon of the holy month of Shaban was seen anywhere in the sky on Sunday evening. Therefore Monday (March 15) will complete 30 days of Rajab month. Counting of the month of Shaban will start from March 16. Accordingly, the holy Shabbat will be celebrated on the night of March 29 (Monday).
On the night of the glorious Shabbat Barat, along with devout Muslims from all over the world, Bangladesh will be engaged in more nafal namaz, recitation of the Qur'an, dhikr-askar in the hope of receiving the grace of the Most Merciful. Many will fast during the day. Do charity. Raise your hands and pray in front of Almighty Allah for forgiveness of sins of the past life and the welfare of the future life. This is how this holy day will be celebrated.
March 29 is a public holiday in the calendar. Since the moon was not sighted yesterday (Sunday), the list of public holidays is supposed to change. That is, according to the calendar, if Shabbat was celebrated on the night before the 28th, March 29 would be a public holiday. And since the moon is not seen, the holy Shabbat will be celebrated on the night of the 29th day. And so the official holiday is supposed to be on March 30. It may be announced today.
