Originally, a virtual board meeting was held to give ODI and Test status to the full members of the ICC. This highest body of cricket has decided to give test status to Bangladesh women's team as a complete team.
In a notification, the ICC said, "The board meeting has decided to grant ODI and Test status to the members of the full women's team of the ICC."
So far, a total of 10 women's teams in the world have received ICC Test recognition. India, Australia, England, South Africa, Pakistan, New Zealand, West Indies and Sri Lanka as well as ICC's associate countries Netherlands and Ireland women's teams played Tests there.
This time, Salma-Jahanarao will play test with those 10 teams. Along with Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe women's teams have also been given Test status. In addition, ICC has also recognized the T20 matches of the Commonwealth Games as international cricket in 2022.
