The Dhaka Times Desk The Jatka Preservation Week is starting today Sunday (April 4) with the slogan 'I will take an oath in Mujib Barsha, I will not eat Jatka Hilsa'. This Jatka Preservation Week will be observed in 20 Jatka related districts of the country till April 10.
On the occasion of Jatka Conservation Week, President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave the message.
Keeping in view the Jatka Conservation Week, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has taken a limited program in consideration of the Corona virus situation. Fisheries and Livestock Minister SH Rezaul Karim will address the press conference on the opening day as part of the programme. Crore papers will also be published in various national dailies on the same day. On the second day of the program, the Jatka Conservation Week 2021 was organized on a limited scale (Monday).
Other programs in this regard include the importance of conserving jatka in various important fish landing centers, fish markets, markets and other public places of Dhaka and continuing the campaign on the related laws, telecasting discussion programs on the importance of conserving jatka on television, videos in various important places including the capital Dhaka with the help of the Directorate of Mass Communication. Demonstration of images, haat-bazaar in Jatka conservation and mobile court in Arte and operation of campaign and distribution of various materials of alternative employment among actual fishermen involved in hilsa extraction.
Fishing of all types including hilsa has already been completely banned in 5 hilsa shelters in 6 districts of the country from March 1 to April 30 in Jatka conservation. Under this ban, all types of fishing, including hilsa, have been stopped in the rivers and rivers associated with hilsa sanctuaries in Barisal, Chandpur, Bhola, Laxmipur, Shariatpur and Patuakhali districts.
It is to be noted that this year, the government provided 19 thousand 502 tons of VGF rice at the rate of 40 kg per month and 80 kg per month for 2 lakh 43 thousand 778 fishermen who refrained from collecting Jatka in 6 districts of Abhayashram during the prohibition of hilsa harvesting.

Also, wash hands as directed before and after handling food items, keys, switches, mice, remote controls, mobiles, watches, computer desks, TVs, etc. and after using the bathroom. Those who have dry hands use Moisture after washing their hands. Soap or hand liquid can be used. Why can this virus remain in the crackle (cracked part) of dry hands? Avoid using highly alkaline soaps or detergents.
