By saying this, he removed the golden crown from De Silva's head and put it on the head of the runner-up. De Silva left the stage with tears in his eyes. He also suffered a head injury in the chaos of the stage. After this incident, the organizers were convinced that, in fact, De Silva was not divorced. He is only separated, but not divorced. The organizers apologized to him. He was later given back the title of winner within a day.

De Silva said in a Facebook post that he also suffered a head injury in the incident. He had to go to the hospital for treatment. Ms de Silva also said she would take legal action against the 'unreasonable and humiliating' treatment she received.
