The Dhaka Times Desk Sehri is associated with good health and healthy food. Even if Sehri is done with a little something, it will be done. In Islamic Shari'ah terminology, eating and drinking on the last night of fasting is called Sahri.
Sehri is very blessed. Fasting begins with this Sehri meal. A separate Niyat is to be made for each Soam. After sighting the moon, the first task of Ramadan is to perform the Tarawih prayer along with the Esha prayer. After sleeping at night mainly amal sehri. Sehri should be eaten at the last hour. Then the call to prayer is made. Momin's fasting journey begins.
Allah has placed many virtues and blessings in this meal of the last night. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) encouraged Sehri to be eaten so that the believer can spend the day in a good way, so that there is no disturbance in the fast. The Prophet said in this regard, 'Tasahharu fa inna fissuhuri barakatun' means you eat Sehri, because Sehri contains blessings. (Sahih Bukhari: 1923 and Sahih Muslim: 1095)
What exactly is Sehri? This question was repeatedly asked by the Companions of the Holy Prophet. In Alkamus, the pre-dawn meal is called Sehri. In terms of terminological meaning, some say that any meal from the first half of the night to dawn is called Sehri. Some also refer to the meal of the last sixth of the night as Sehri. Describing the pure meaning of Sehri, many people have said that taking food on the last night with the intention of fasting and hoping for merit is called Sehri.
Sehri eating is mustahab-sunnah. If you don't eat Sehri, it doesn't mean you won't be fasting. However, Sehri should not be given up at all. Sehri differentiates Muslims from Ahl al-Kitab, Jews and Christians. In this regard, the Prophet said, 'The only difference between our fast and the fast of the people of the book is to eat Sehri.' (Sahih Muslim)
May Allah Ta'ala grant us Tawfik to observe Sehri Amal beautifully - Ameen.
