The Dhaka Times Desk Long-distance public transport and trains were stopped for more than a month and a half to control the second wave of corona virus. The government has launched long-distance buses, trains and launches from today (Monday).
According to the government's decision, long-distance bus and train services have started from this morning. Yesterday (Sunday), in a notification signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet Department, Rezaul Islam, it is said that the ongoing restrictions to prevent the spread of the global pandemic corona virus have been extended for another round until May 30. However, within these restrictions, all types of public transport are allowed to operate on condition that half the seats are kept empty.
The notification also said that all types of public transport, including inter-district, will be able to ply with half the number of passengers. However, everyone including passengers must wear masks and follow all hygiene rules.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association has urged the bus owners to run public transport in accordance with the government directives. The association said that buses should be operated under the conditions prescribed by the government and following the health rules. No passenger can board the bus without a mask. Drivers, conductors, helpers, people engaged in selling tickets must also wear masks. Social distancing should also be observed at the ticket counter.
Last March, due to the increase in the rate of corona infection, the government ordered to keep half the seats vacant in the public transport. That is why the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) increased the bus fare by 60 percent on March 30. Accordingly, 60 percent increased fare is being charged for city transport as well. Long-distance public transport, which will be launched from today, will also charge a 60 percent higher fare.
According to railway sources, railway stations and train compartments have already been cleaned. After 49 long days of non-operation of trains, the engines are also checked for proper functioning. From today 28 pairs (56) intercity trains and 9 pairs of mail and commuter trains will ply across the country. Each train will run with half the passengers following the hygiene rules.
According to sources of inland shipping, launch-steamers are being launched on all routes from today (Monday). From Sadarghat, sea transport will leave to different parts of the country.

Those who have dry hands use Moisture after washing their hands. Soap or hand liquid can be used. Why can this virus remain in the crackle (cracked part) of dry hands? Avoid using highly alkaline soaps or detergents.
