The Dhaka Times Desk With the aim of increasing the number of professional actuaries in the insurance of the country, Metlife Bangladesh is providing scholarships to 10 university students who are interested in becoming actuaries in the future through professional actuarial scholarships.
This is the only private education scholarship program for actuaries in Bangladesh that provides professional growth through awareness raising, financial assistance for study and examination, and mentoring from established actuaries who are certified.
Applications for this scholarship were open to students of any department studying at the university level from among whom the scholarship holders were selected through various stages of evaluation. The universities from which the scholarship recipients have been selected are – Dhaka University, Dhaka University Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and North South University (NSU). .
After receiving an actuarial scholarship, students begin pursuing actuarial education courses alongside their regular institutional studies.
Actuaries play an important role in managing various risks for insurance companies and in the growth and development of the insurance sector. There is an opportunity to build an interesting career in this profession in Bangladesh.
A virtual commencement ceremony was organized to congratulate and welcome 10 students who recently received Actuarial Scholarships. Dr. was present at this event.
