The Three Domed Mosque of Dewan Sharif

The mosque you see is a 400-year-old Dewan Sharif three-domed mosque built during the Mughal period. It is a historical mosque.

নরসিংদীর পলাশ উপজেলায় প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছে মোগল আমলের মুসলিম সভ্যতার অনুপম নিদর্শন পারুলিয়ার তিন গম্বুজ মসজিদটি। প্রায় ৪শ’ বছর আগের এই ঐতিহাসিক মসজিদটি আজও কালের সাক্ষী হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে রয়েছে। এই মসজিদটির পাশেই রয়েছে ইশাখাঁর পঞ্চম অধস্তন পুরুষ দেওয়ান শরীফ খাঁ এবং তাঁর স্ত্রী মুর্শিদ কুলি খাঁর কন্যা জয়নব বিবির যুগল মাজার। সরেজমিনে স্থানীয়দের সঙ্গে কথা বলে জানা যায, ১৭১৯ হিজরিতে তিন গম্বুজ বিশিষ্ট মসজিদটি র্নিমাণ করেছিলেন জয়নব বিবি।

It is known from history that from 1580 AD to 1722 the then Dhaka district was known as Narsingdi district Maheshwardi. In 1717, Murshid Quli Khan was appointed Subedar of Bengal. After his appointment as Subedar, his youngest daughter Zainab was married to Sharif Khan, the fifth son of Isha Khan's fifth subordinate, Manwar Khan, and the son-in-law was appointed Dewan of Maheshwardi Pargana.
