In fact, lakhs of garment and factory workers have to suffer due to the indecisiveness of the concerned people. If the office starts from this morning, it is normal that they will return to Dhaka yesterday.

They went home because of the 14-day lockdown before Eid. Now that 14 days before the office is open? Still opened if necessary. As these are export oriented factories. Therefore, if they are not opened, the country will suffer. Which is why the decision to open may be right. If it is opened again, why is it not given two days? Why is the transport not opened? The workers have to suffer because of repeated wrong decisions by the government and garment workers' organizations.

When the announcement was made on Friday, it was not said that the factory will be run only with those who are in Dhaka. When thousands of workers started arriving on Saturday, it was announced that the factory will be built with those who are in Dhaka, no one will lose their jobs, etc. All the workers on the streets this time!

Then when the workers said the TV channels will we fly to the office? Then the government realized. At the end of the day it was announced that the launch will continue. The news was shown on the scroll of the TV. Then again I thought that it would not be possible to just leave the launch, then how will they come? Then it was announced again that public transport will be open until 12 o'clock on Sunday for the convenience of workers! When the decision to open the factory was made, the transportation system should have been thought of. But it was not done. That's why those garment workers with low salary have to spend 150 to 2000 taka instead of 100 or 200 taka and suffer extreme hardship to come to Dhaka.

A TV channel said on behalf of a garment owner organization, they did not know that the workers would come within the lockdown! They opened and the workers will not come again, how about it! Didn't they see last year? Workers are told by telephone that if they do not appear, there will be no job. However, how he said such a thing is really surprising!

We are not opposing the government decision. But the decision should be taken after considering all aspects. We all know how much the common workers get paid in this poor country like ours. They can't even think about losing their jobs. So they risked their lives and returned to Dhaka with the risk of corona in this time of corona.

We hope that whatever decision the garment owners and the government take in the future, at least they think about the workers. Garment workers are working at the risk of life during this corona crisis. They have no objection. They were always willing to return from home at any time. But experts feel that this decision should have been taken after determining the means of their arrival.

Avoid using highly alkaline soaps or detergents.
