The Taliban have captured 9 provincial capitals in Afghanistan since last Friday. A US intelligence official told Reuters news agency that the Taliban could isolate Kabul within 30 days.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the Taliban's influence across the country with the departure of US-led foreign forces has prompted renewed scrutiny of how long Kabul can survive.
