On February 29, 2020, a peace agreement was signed between the Taliban and the Afghan government, brokered by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Under this agreement, the US began to gradually withdraw its troops from Afghanistan. Taking this opportunity, the Taliban, who were hiding in the mountains, began to advance towards the city with redoubled strength. The government forces could not resist them. As a result, most of the 34 provinces were easily captured by the Taliban. Last Saturday, the Taliban entered Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, and the entire country came under their control. Despite the efforts of the Afghan government, the Taliban's advance could not be stopped. Finally, a day later, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani escaped on Sunday evening.

After the attack on America's Twin Towers, America is reeling. They blamed the Muslim terrorist group Al Qaeda for the incident. They allege that Al-Qaeda terrorists are hiding in the mountains of Afghanistan with the help of the Taliban. America became angry against the Taliban. They ousted the Taliban government in 2001 using military force. There they installed the government of their choice. Meanwhile, Taliban fighters left the city and took up positions in remote Anjal hills and mountain caves. American trained soldiers have been fighting the Taliban for over twenty years. In this situation, when America withdrew its troops from Afghanistan, the situation in Afghanistan changed rapidly. Afghanistan quickly fell under the control of the Taliban. After coming to power, they now want to establish Muslim Sharia law in Afghanistan. America, however, is already opposed to the establishment of Sharia law. The Taliban are already talking about respecting women and taking criticism of others seriously. Now they will not hold swords for anyone criticizing their government including newspapers. Girls can work, study. The future will tell how much they can implement these statements in the coming days. However, it has already been seen in several provinces that the Taliban have banned working girls from coming to the workplace. All the pictures of girls on the small and big walls of the capital Kabul have started to be erased with white paint. Now women are in the most fear in Afghanistan. They started wearing the burqa again. The burqa shops in shopping malls have lost steam. As a result, the price of burqa has also increased several times. If the Taliban reverts to the 1996 regime, it does not appear that women will have any rights. However, some say that the Taliban wants to adapt to the global situation. In particular, they will not give shelter to any terrorist group in Afghanistan. But time will tell what is actually going to happen in Afghanistan.
