The Dhaka Times Desk Court granted bail to actress Parimani. The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kaish gave this order on Tuesday (August 31).
The hearing of Parimani's bail application in the Narcotics Control Act case filed at the capital's Banani police station began at 2 pm. His lawyer Mojibur Rahman started hearing the bail application in the court and said that the accused has been remanded 3 times. Also in jail custody is kept for more than 24 hours. But no evidence was found from him in Jingasabad. We want to say that this accused is physically very weak, he is suffering from vertigo. Due to being in jail, he is not able to do many movies that are contracted. 47 (1) (c) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018 may also get bail on the ground that the accused is a woman. He will never abscond if granted bail. The accused will accept bail on any condition.
Opposing this statement, the state's Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Abdullah Abu said in the court that 18.5 liters of alcohol was found from Parimni's house in the raid. Also many empty bottles are available. Accused wasted time by live during the operation and threw away the liquor. Honorable Court also found 4 grams of dreaded drug ice. Many of the accused in this drug did not get bail. Law is equal for all. Therefore, the accused should be detained in jail. Later, the judge concluded the hearing and granted Parimani's bail application.
It is to be noted that earlier on August 22, the court fixed September 13 for his bail hearing. However, due to the late date of hearing, Parimani's lawyers approached the High Court for a quick bail hearing, challenging the order. Then on August 26, the hearing of the accused's bail application will not be ordered to be held within two days. The High Court gave the ruling after asking to know that. Later, on Sunday (August 29), Judge KM Imrul Kayesh Parimani fixed August 31 as a new date for the bail hearing on the instructions of the High Court. According to that date, the hearing was held today and bail was granted.
It should be noted that after a 4-hour raid at Banani's house on the afternoon of August 4, 3 people including Parimani were arrested along with local and foreign liquor and LSD drugs. Later, RAB filed a case under Narcotics Control Act against Parimoni and his accomplice Ashraful Islam Deepu at Banani police station.
