Greece put up a border wall to stop Afghan refugees

In this regard, an emergency meeting of the European Union Justice, Foreign and Interior Ministers on the issue of Afghanistan was held in Brussels last Tuesday. In that meeting, they reached a consensus that illegal refugees will not be allowed to enter Europe under any circumstances, as in 2015.

Note that one million refugees entered Europe in 2015. But they will also extend aid to coalition partners in the fight against terrorism in the rise of the Taliban, ensuring women's rights.

Neighboring countries are urged to shelter these refugees. From 2021 to 2027, the European Union will bear the cost of providing asylum to refugees. A budget of 79.5 billion euros has been announced. Reasonable asylum seekers will be granted asylum in neighboring countries subject to proof.

In this regard, they will discuss with Pakistan, Iran, Qatar, Emirates, Kuwait, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and other countries. Turkey, Russia and Belarus will be pressed if necessary for pushing refugees into Europe.

He highlighted the vigilance of Frontex, Border Security Force and Army to enhance seamless security at all borders. A budget of 13 million euros was announced in this regard. Whether to keep Afghan embassies open in all countries will depend on the Taliban government's activities and foreign policy. It is informed that the asylum application of all Afghans will be scrutinized on the basis of information evidence and measures will be taken for quick repatriation or deportation.

Meanwhile, in such a situation, Greece is strengthening security with a 40-kilometer defense fence on the border with Turkey to prevent the entry of Afghans.

The country's civil protection minister, Michalis Chrysochoidis, said, "We can never wait for adverse effects." Our borders will always be inviolable. He made these comments as Turkey called on European countries to offer asylum to Afghan refugees.
